Video Consultations

As a training aid, doctors use videotape consultations to assess their performance. You may be asked if it is acceptable to you that your consultation is videotaped. If you agree you will be asked to sign a consent form. If you are not happy about being videoed, you can ask for the camera to be switched off at any time. Physical examinations will be performed off camera, although the sound recording will remain on. The tapes are used for training purposes only. Confidentiality is always maintained; the videotapes are stored in a secure place and erased after viewing.

Non-NHS Services - Forms, Reports Or Examination

Fees are always payable for medical services not covered by the NHS. This applies particularly to completion of forms, reports and examination requested by organisations outside the NHS. A list of services and charges is displayed on the notice board in the main waiting room. Our fees are based on BMA recommendations.

Patients Association

The Patients' Association was formed in 1978. Over the years the Association has been a very useful source of patients' feedback. Furthermore, the Association has successfully raised funds for the purchase of special equipment for use by patients. If you wish to join the Committee, please ask reception for a form. Your help and comments are greatly appreciated.

Access To Medical Records

You have a right to access your health records. To do so please contact practice manager Estelle Powell who will inform you of the correct procedure and any costs involved.

Freedom Of Informaiton - Publication Scheme

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 obliges the practice to produce a Publication Scheme. A publication scheme is a guide to the classes of information the practice intends to routinely make available. This scheme is displayed on the notice board in the main waiting room.

Zero Tolerance Policy

The practice operates a zero tolerance policy where a patient is violent or abusive to the Doctors, staff or other members on the practice premises will result in immediate removal from the practice list.
