Efforts to assess the severity of the H1N1 influenza pandemic sometimes compare numbers of confirmed deaths with those estimated for seasonal influenza, either nationally or worldwide. Such comparisons are not reliable for several reasons and can be misleading.

Lichfield Street Surgery was founded in 1930. The premises were extensively modernised in 1996 enabling the practice to provide a comprehensive range of health care services.

The practice is also a training practice for GP registrars and undergraduate medical students and is linked with Birmingham University Medical School.

Patients may park on the forecourt only while attending surgery. There is an abundance of local parking, including one-hour parking on the opposite side of Lichfield Street.
